These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and AskWidget. By creating an account or using our service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use AskWidget.

1. What AskWidget does

AskWidget provides AI-powered chat widgets that businesses embed on their websites. Our service generates responses to visitor questions using your business information and Anthropic's Claude AI. We handle the hosting, the AI processing, and the widget delivery so you can focus on your business.

2. Account registration

To use AskWidget, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at [email protected].

3. Subscription and billing

AskWidget is a single monthly subscription at $29.99 per month, billed in advance from the day you subscribe, which includes a monthly allowance of AI-generated messages. If you exceed the allowance, your widget keeps responding; we may contact you about adjusting your allowance if overage is sustained. All fees are in US dollars and are non-refundable except where required by law.

4. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to the service until that date. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months.

AskWidget is not HIPAA compliant and is not intended for use by healthcare providers, health plans, or their business associates. If your business is subject to HIPAA, you may not use AskWidget, and we do not sign Business Associate Agreements. Do not configure your chatbot to request health information from visitors.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice.

6. Intellectual property

AskWidget owns all rights to the service, including our software, design, branding, and documentation. You retain ownership of the business content you provide to configure your chatbot (such as service descriptions, pricing, and FAQs). By uploading that content, you grant us a limited license to use it solely for the purpose of powering your chatbot.

AI-generated responses produced by the service are not owned by AskWidget. We make no claim of ownership over the output delivered to your website visitors.

7. AI disclaimer

AskWidget uses artificial intelligence to generate responses. AI-generated content may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. Responses should not be treated as professional, legal, medical, or financial advice. You are responsible for reviewing your chatbot's configuration and ensuring the information it provides is appropriate for your business. AskWidget is not liable for decisions made based on AI-generated responses.

8. Data and privacy

Chat transcripts and any contact details visitors share are stored on our servers and made available to you in your dashboard and by email, so you can review conversations and follow up with leads. You are responsible for using that data in line with the laws that apply to your business. For full details, read our Privacy Policy.

Your chat messages are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. Anthropic's API terms state that API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models. We do not sell or share your data with any other third parties.

9. Third-party services

AskWidget relies on Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. We are not responsible for any downtime, errors, or changes to Anthropic's service that may affect AskWidget's functionality. We will make reasonable efforts to maintain service availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AskWidget and its owners, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. This includes lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or any damages resulting from AI-generated content. Our total liability for any claim related to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid to AskWidget in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

AskWidget is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that AI-generated responses will be accurate or suitable for any particular purpose.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or if we are required to do so by law. You may terminate your account at any time by canceling your subscription and contacting us at [email protected]. Upon termination, your right to use the service ends immediately.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through the service. Your continued use of AskWidget after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall be resolved in the courts located in Colorado.
